James Chinn founded Alpine Cabinet Company in Timnath, Colorado in 1968 with just one employee. James had previously worked in a lumberyard and introduced ready-built cabinets to Northern Colorado, and he later worked for another cabinet company.
That experience showed him he could provide exceptional value to contractors and homeowners by manufacturing ready-built cabinets locally, and selling direct. The business was a success and soon began to grow, adding space and employees at a steady pace.
Industry Leading Colorado Cabinet Manufacturer
Today, we're the leading cabinet manufacturer, building the finest custom cabinets Colorado has to offer. We're still in the same location we started, and we're still a family-run business – although we had to build a new building when our old facility burned down in 1995.
The nine-month rebuilding process brought us into the modern manufacturing age, as we added computerized machinery to allow us to build cabinets faster and more accurately than ever before.
When James started the business, he was able to produce 25 cabinets a day, working seven days a week, 12 to 16 hours a day. We offered two different color options with four different routing patterns.
Today, modern technology and years of experience enable us to manufacture nearly 40,000 face frame cabinets and 2,000 frameless cabinets a year. You can choose from numerous door styles, nine different wood species, rustic woods, several stains, glazes and highlights, as well as hundreds of hardware and accessory options.
James is still on the job, and he enjoys his daily interaction with customers and employees, as well as adapting to the changes the industry constantly brings. Today his two sons, Scott and Bill, assume the daily operations of the business. Both sons have been with the business since an early age and have helped shape Alpine into what it is today. Scott is V.P. of sales and Bill is V.P. of production. A third generation of the Chinn family is involved in the business, as well. We employ as many as 60, including skilled craftsmen and others dedicated to creating and delivering a quality product to you.
We work to provide a friendly, family atmosphere, and we're proud to have many long-term employees, many with 10 to 20 years of experience at Alpine. We're also involved in the community, and give back by supporting many local charities.
